The Heart Behind Speaking of Joye
Speaking of Joye began in a season of uncertainty. In May 2020, I was let go from my role as Chief Experience Officer at a credit union in Houston. It wasn’t a surprise. God had already whispered that change was coming. But I still found myself asking, “What’s next, God?”
It was the middle of a pandemic. Jobs were scarce, my daughters were starting first grade, and my husband suggested I start my own leadership company. I had a severance, time, and figured, why not? So I shared my vision with a high school friend who owned a branding agency. As she listened, she asked me the question that would shift everything: “What’s really in your heart?”
Without hesitation, I said, “God and women.”
That was the first spark. But I was afraid. I didn’t see where I fit. So I launched Speaking of Joye as a leadership company and for two years felt out of place. It wasn’t until I stood in a friend’s living room, sharing my story with 15 women, that God gently revealed Speaking of Joye isn’t just a leadership brand. It’s a women’s ministry. It still took months of surrender, but in February 2023, I finally said yes and launched the ministry you see today.
Speaking of Joye exists because too many women live like I did, questioning if they’re enough, wondering if it will work, talking themselves out of what God has already promised. Many count themselves out because of past mistakes or current responsibilities. They grow impatient, lose hope, or try to do it all alone.
This ministry is here to remind women that God is for them. That they’re not alone. That there’s a safe space to breathe, trust God completely, and build meaningful relationships with women who get it.
We do this through speaking, retreats, Bible studies, devotionals, resources, and faith-filled conversations on the podcast, all created to help you live joyfully, trust deeply, and walk confidently in purpose.
